On Saturday, August 13, Marc Stutzmann won the title of Swiss Marathon Champion. He confirmed his excellent form before the upcoming Swiss Epic stage race, which he will participate in together with Martin Stošek.
Marc managed the 80 km race in Grindelwald in a time of 4 hours, 23 minutes and 54 seconds. He decided his victory in the final hill.
"We were at a high pace from the start, but I felt very good. I tried to move as close to the front as possible and on the last hill I got in. I started the final downhill with a lead of around 20 seconds and I kept the first place," said Marc about the race.
From Tuesday, August 15, Marc together with Martin Stošek will take part in the Swiss Epic pairs stage race. We can already rank the Canyon Northwave riders among the favourites to win. "I'm looking forward to the Swiss Epic. But it was not easy to mobilize my forces and I have to admit that I was quite tired, especially on Thursday. However, now I feel good again and yesterday I did a good training with some intervals. I started at the Swiss Epic 3 years ago with Kristián (Hynek, team manager, note) and I liked the race. I'm looking forward to racing with Marc, the current Swiss champion. He's in shape too, so I think we could do well," said Martin.
The Swiss Epic starts on Tuesday in Lenzerheide with a 51-kilometre stage. Competitors will pass famous mountain resorts such as St. Moritz or Davos. You can find out more about the race or from behind the scenes on the team's social networks.
